About

He Sliced, She Diced is an ode to any couple out there who has the fortune (or misfortune!)of having two master chefs residing under one roof. After much squabbling we have yet to reach a consensus as to who wields the spatula best. Our friends and family are divided, so we need you to weigh in on our recipes— some mine, some his, some ours.

The Chefs:

(written by Antoine)

Bethany loves to bake. And in her culinary growth has moved from whipping up batches of cookies and cakes to experimenting with ‘the main event,’ entrees. Her cooking style is precise (she measures everything!). If the amount of steps from fridge to stove made any difference she’d have that added to the recipe. And yet through some augmentation of the laws of physics she’s  impatient. Her favorite ingredients include orzo, peas, and steak— as long as she leave it be long enough for it to stop moo-ing. But truth be told, if I had to eat a meal I didn’t prepare, I wouldn’t want any other person manning the pan.

Antoine prefers to think of himself as a “devil may care” style chef. The man measures nothing! And is constantly adding dashes of whatever spice is within his reach (the jury’s still out on whether that’s out of laziness or culinary genius). Whatever his motives, he’s a spice man— using pepper, paprika, and cayenne in almost everything. His cooking ambitions regularly include sausage, bacon, and sausage. Oh, and he thinks alcohol should be a main ingredient in almost every dish. While I usually question every move he makes in the kitchen— much to his annoyance— I always want seconds of the finished product, but I want thirds of my own…
